Caroline Mentyka works with a team to coordinate improvements in Southwest Airlines’ reservation system. She ensures that the airline delivers quality code to customers as well as front-line employees through testing applications from all across the different areas of the company. She is also the culture lead for her department, in charge of planning events for fellow employees.
Mentyka was prepared for her position by two internship experiences, as well as working at the Franciscan University ITS Helpdesk and as a supervisor at the St. John Paul II Library.
She also developed leadership skills such as scheduling and budgeting from co-leading a mission trip to New Mexico.
“While I certainly did not take this opportunity to further my career, it helped me to land a job at company that also cares about helping others,” said Mentyka.
