At Franciscan, we believe in a hands-on, faith-based approach to shaping future educators. Whether your goal is to become a high school English teacher, or to develop a dynamic, technology-oriented curricula as an administrator, our programs prepare you for an exciting and rewarding career.

As an undergraduate student, you’ll gain valuable field experience, observing and assisting teachers at local schools and other education settings.

In addition to your coursework, you’ll have the opportunity to teach abroad in Austria and student teach during your senior year—all while specializing in one of nine licensure areas.

Our experienced faculty will help you integrate technology effectively for your future curriculum, all while cultivating a spirit of professionalism that you’ll take to your future school.

Two professors in Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Education Department received a $75,000 grant from the Ohio Deans Compact on Exceptional Children to create an online module to help educators across the state teach evidence-based behavior management practices.
